Just a suggestion...
If all you are repairing are surface cracks, why not grind them out and fair with polyester fairing compound or resin to about a few mil below the original surface and re-gelcoat. That's how I fixed many of mine and while still too early to tell, they seem to be holding well.If you have done major repairs (I had to rebuild a portion of the motor well where a previous owner cut out a corner for a stearing ram) that that required all epoxy over marine plywood because it was structural. I applied duratec and then gelcoat over that. It seems to be holding beyond my expectations.
By the way, this picture as taken with me running those Mazda Rotary engines.
