Duratec is manufactured by Hawkeye Industries. It is a Vinyl Ester Primer deisgned for marine applications. It is the only product I know of which will bond to an epoxy surface and provide gelcoat a good bonding surface. I have used this product on epoxy and vinyl ester materials with excellent results. While I have not personally used it with polyester orthophthalic or isophthalic gelcoats, it is commonly used below the waterline as a primer prior to re-gelcoating with isophthalic gelcoats (after hull was peeled for blister repair).
