As per Patrick when I put mine back on I just sanded the rough paint surfaces off under the hull mounting portion . Use 5200 to put the bolts back in with Nylok nuts and washers. Then final torque on nuts in a few days when 5200 finally cures. My pads where dry too after 31 years. Amazing. Now you will need an engine alignment however since your struts where off. If you are going to do it yourself take a feelers guage and with your coupling loose but hand snug you should have no more than .004" at 90 degree intervals. The nut adjustment is basic physics with height and side to side with a crow bar but I'm not an expert there. I paid a guy $100.00 to do mine. My port has one side at .0015" and the other corners at .000" . Good luck at least now you have some working knowledge which can straighten your hired help up in a hurry if you need it. Dave K
