I just replaced my transmission oil coolers and raw water pumps last month.
Measure your old transmission coolers, my 1990 mercruiser 454's were 9" long, and had 1-1/4" raw water ports and 3/8 NPT transmission ports. I'm pretty sure the overall diameter was 2-1/8". and the overall length was 12"
There are many places to by transmission coolers. You should replace them if you suspect they may be a problem. I replaced all of the coolers on my 454's. Engine oil, Transmission oil, and fresh water heat exchangers. Anything that sees that much salt water is an increasing vulnerability over the years.
I buy a lot of parts at www.partman.com. I think partman in a webpage for Lighthouse Marine. They seem to be in NY, and they have never failed at getting things out same day. Even if I order in the afternoon. In NJ I always receive goods the next day.
Lenco is another heat exchanger manufacturer I have bought from. They are on Staten or Long Island, and they have good service too.
