If the boat is in the water it will be equally supported from underneath, the problem about the hull sag on a trailer or lift is because all the boats weight is being supported at just a few points. The only problem I have with lead or sand is it's unuseable load, (unless it's dive weights), I like to load mine with more fuel, ice, water and gear, but I will admit, I ride better loaded and with little or no loss of preformance,
