Mike, I have 460 ford gas engines and a 250 gallon tank and when full of fuel and carrying two more 32 gal. drums at the rear of the cockpit and gear it still does't cover the exhaust ports totally. The only problem I've seen is it's pretty noisy until your on plane. I don't think you have any thing to worry about, just try it out first before you do any work you might not need.
