Mike, when I first got Lady D, I had the local guy do a tune up & everything went bad from there. He had had one of his mechanics do the work and he (the mechanic)spent another 2 afternoons trying to figure out what was going on.

long story short after I took a swim to verify it wasn't a bent prop. We hauled and it was a bent shaft.

So IMHO, if you can take a swim to feel the props & if there's nothing up there, go for the short haul to check out the shaft/cutlass bearing.
