Hey Steve,
Like JohnF said earlier, we all get tired of fixin or improving. Then again it's a great feeling to know how every system on your boat works and can most likely fix it WHEN it breaks.I've got a B35, old and gas, but still a great boat. If it was up to me I'd buy Tom's Rumrunner 31 and not look back. The wife however says no dice. She's approved a b36, b37, or b39, all I gotta do is pay for them (not in this lifetime).
As far as single handed running your boat. The others have had some good suggestions. One of the easiest was to rig a guide line from bow piling to sern piling, such that it catches the boat or acts as a hand hold to help with getting into the slip. The other thing is practice, practice, practice. I run my 35 all the time by my self and attach the spring line to the sern cleat as an interim step to hold the boat 1/2 way through the front pilings. Then its easy to to the bow lines and since I only have bow and stern pilings on the starboard side of a 40ft slip I can and have blown between them. Now that I'm use to it a lot of the time I'd perfer to do the lines myself than to have guests putz with them.
