The biggest surprise to me, when I converted from gas to diesel, was the fewer hours I put on the diesel motors. The additional speed allows me to cover significant ground from fishing area to area, which I previously wouldn't have considered with gas engines[forget the price of fuel]. The larger wheels and different shaft angle keep the V hull in the water and allow me to run much harded, faster in a rough sea, than with gas.
