Having gone from 454's to 300hp Cummins I can say that you can't compare the two setups. You can crunch the numbers anyway you want but the bottom line is this boat is now totally different. Different speeds, different fuel comsumption but the biggest difference is the feel. Can't quite describe it but even when stepping on the boat for the first time after the repower the boat feels totally different. Aside from that the rough water handling is so much better, set the throttles and forget about it. No more slowing down 2knts while crawling up the back of a wave, etc. For the offshore scene this boat with diesels is the way to go.

I'd take anyone for a ride who is interested...but it might have to wait till 06. It'll be worth the wait, I promise.
