If you're planning to keep the boat a long time, add this to your equation. How many sets of gas engines will you use up before your diesels are deemed tired? I had Chrysler 440s and switched to Cummins in 1990. Use less fuel, low maintenance, boat has greater range, Handles much better, uses the same amount of fuel loaded with people, tackle and ice as when just 2 of us. If you can afford it, you'll probably get it back when/if you sell it.
