Mike, unless your use the boat a lot or just want diesel, I think you should go with gas. You'll never recover the cost on a diesel repower unless you burn a bunch of fuel. I have 340 h.p. gas engines and get .8 to .9 nmpg @ a 24 knot cruise (1 mpg @27 mph) and have no complaints, but I will repower with diesel if I can afford it when the time comes, but because I want them, the payback won't be there in dollars.
