My father was a tough old German that made sure I could run his boat his way when I was a teenager. When he let me take that old boat out fishing on my own, when I was a teenager, it was a bigger deal to me than driving a car. Now I've got a new son-in-law that does not know jack about boats but I'm working with him. Between my daughter and I, we are trying to make him seaworthy. It might be awhile, but eventually they are going to take my B31 out on their own and I want to make sure they hear the "old man's" voice when they're out there.
