When ??

OK boys and girls. I'm 51. Got three kids. Two are girls. Made it through the boy friend worries and all that crap. Got hit up tonight by my son (21 years old), who's been on boats all his life, fishes with the best and has some kind of common sense , with a question that I don't know how to answer.

His question was, "Dad , when can I take the Bertram out fishing??". My immediate answer is NEVER but I'm not sure that it's the right answer. I'm looking for input here 'cause I don't know how to respond. I've got no problem with cars, trucks, guns, the little boat BUT know we're talking about the 31. Help me out here please folks. We're talking about coastal fishing, not offshore.
