I agree with walter. My '62 F.B.C. has a 180 gallon tank (I have the label). So you never really know! My engines burn somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 g.p.h. at 25 knots. I have burned as little as 105 gallons on a canyon day trip, and as much as 165 gallons on a 30 hour plus overnight trip beyond East Atlantis canyon. I also agree with EVERYONE that these engines are an excellent choice for a 31 Bertram. I am starting to hear reports of their going 8,000 hours without a major overhaul. They are quiet, SUPER reliable, don't smoke a lot, and seem to give better performance than some manufacturer's 250 horsepower engines. I love mine, but being a charter boat, I would also love some extra tankage!
