Bilge Talk

This is how bilge cleaning has been described to me. (My B28 diesel bilge is filthy and has probably not been cleaned in a few years, so this would be an initial effort to be followed up more closely in the future.)

Anyway, turn off the bilge pumps, I have an off-manual-auto switch in the vee berththat should do the trick. Stick a garden hose in the bilge, fill up, I don't know, to 6 or 8 inches? Pour in an indeterminant amount of cleaner (Castrol Super X). Go for a 1/2 hour ride taking care to slosh the water around in the bilge. Turn pumps back on.

What say you?
