You'll get a lot of different opinions on this one. When we went from 454's to 300hp Cummins we went from 3 blade to 4. Can't compare 3 vs 4 on these engines because we only have one set of props, for now. 300hp 6BTA Cummins, 1.5:1 ZF trans, 20x23 lite cup 4 blade props. FBC, 1/2 tower, full curtains, full fuel, 6 adults and WOT is 3000+ so I could easily add more prop but being underpropped is key for diesel engines. I like the way the 4 blades give a little lift to the stern, also provides a nice clean wake while trolling. I wanted to make sure the boat would handle well at rough water speeds, 12-16knts so I thought 4 blade would be a better for for my needs.
