Andre,
Make sure you check your wires that supply the 120 volt outlets. I changed mine out a few years back, the outside insulation (black 10-3) looked fine but the insulation on the inner wires(black, green and white wires)were all dry and cracked.I kept stripping back and couldn't find a clear section on the entire run. Granted they have been in the boat since 1961. If you have a 120 outlet in the starboard side of the V-berth hanging locker, tape the new wire to the old and pull it back to the galley outlet, there's hardly any access under the galley counter. I advise everyone to check all 120 volt lines, it's not that hard of a job to change them. Also check your old household breakers(that rusty box on the port side engine space with 2-20 amp breakers that are often frozen solid) at the same time. It's also a good time to install a galvanic isolator system in the line. We don't need our classic's burning up because of 50 bucks worth of wire and a few hours of our time.
