Mine are hinged from the side all glass pilasters. My old boxes were hinged from the bulkhead. I had mine made so that it hinges and lifts up just like a car hood. Easier on the back and faster access when you need it.My new sides are all one piece from the walkway to the part the sits on the deck and support area. Mine are 3/4 " Nadacore out of a mold. My old ones were 1/2" plywood glassed and gelcoated. They fell apart from wood rot.Sorry I don't know how to post pictures here. Dave K
