I fished with a captian out of Morehead City ,NC last year that rigged them (flying fish lures)
on a kite. The kite allows the lures to skip across the surface much like the real thing. Amazingly, some of the lures were home made using sections of clear plastic hose colored with a permanent marker. Absolutely incredible watching yellowfins hit them on the surface like candy.
