Brake Mean Effective Pressure is a basically measure of an engines efficiency. Not the cranking compression.
BMEP = Torque(ft-lbs)/Displacement(cu-in) * 75.40 * (# of Engine Cycles)/2
Where # of engines cycles is 2 for two stroke and 4 for four stroke. essenitally the area contained by the pressure map of Otto cycle or Diesel cycle in this case.
