doubling up Divinycell core material?

A while back I posted about creating hatches for my Bertram 25, Captain Pat straightened me out as to how to do it and I've done some more test layups and I am getting better at it. One of the items that I have been struggling with is his suggestion to use Divinycell. I cannot find anyone in the NE that carries it in 3/4" size. I came accross a place that has the 1/2" sheets instock.

Can I just double up the core with maybe a layer of 1/5oz mat in between? suggestions?
