Bertram 20 Swimming Platform

I (an Australian) have just bought a used Bertram 20. Would like to add a swimming platform ("duck board") to it. Would it be possible to extend the hull (to the extend of trim tabs in plan view) to support the swimming platform, and improve stability at rest? Any previous experience in improving stability of the Bertram 20?
