Guys I just wanted to chime in hear with my two cents. Since we have been B31 owners for 25 years I to had issues with the "cored hull" construction. We recently purchased a 42 Express and that was one of the first questions that I posed to Joe Corvelli (the builder). "Cored Hull" construction seems to be a catch all phrase. This boat has a "solid glass bottom. Then they lay sections of foam on top of the solid glass and sandwich it between layers. I saw a new one being laid up in the mold and it only had foam in areas. The majority was glass. The boat we just bought is a 1996 and has zero stress cracks, is the most structurally stiff boat that I have ever been on and has and awesome ride. I'm not defending the boat or saying that you guys are knocking the boat. All I'm saying is I had the same questions that you are posing and they have all been answered beyond my satisfaction.
