If you ever knock a pretty big hole in the bottom, get someone to jump overboard and stuff a pillow in the hole from the outside. Have seen it done, and it saved the boat. On the other hand, as I remember the boat was probably not worth saving, maybe a Blub Liner. Always keep in the back of your mind that if you hit something big at speed, say a half submurged piling, they all will sink, so keep the life jackets where you cand the crew can find them, and the life raft at hand. And do a brief safety run thru with your crew every time you leave the dock.

Oh yeah, the genset started, finally after I applied my own juice.
