Rawleigh your absolutly correct. They just buy you time if a stuffing box comes loose or a dripless malfunctions. I've been there and would of never made it home if it had not been for 3 guys and a bucket brigade. Bilge pumps will clog with debris as the hull gets a complete wash under the fuel tank(s).Can't have enough of bilge pumps... Dave K
