Any points of view or recommendations on type of bilge pump system to use?

IE: non-automatic with separate float switch vs. automatic with internal float switch vs. automatic that switch on every 2 minutes or so?

If a float switch is used any thoughts on exposed "flapper switch" vs. a self-contained/covered switch?
