Radar

I installed a new Furuno open array 1763 Radar/Chart plotter over the weekend, unit works great, easy to use and understand. My problem however is it is interfering with my VHF radio, basically I have to turn my squelch up all the way, while the radar is transmitting, in order to cut out the static. Any help would be appreciated, also does anybody know if technical phone assistance is available from Furuno in the US.
