Do not paint grounding plates! Painting them will significantly reduce their grounding capability, and eliminate their bonding effectiveness.

The sintered bronze type bonding/grounding plates utilize porous construction to achieve a greater conductor surface/water contact area to obtain a larger "effective" surface area. Painting them generally destroys them.
