Not familar with soda blasting, is it dusty and or time consuming?
Here we use to strip bottom paint is a water base paint stripper made especially for this application.
I don't do this myself but I did it to my 25B. You can roll it, but spraying it gives a much heavier coating. Instructions are apply and wait 5 to 6 hours. Well I waited the 5 hours and with a 6" paint scrapper 30 years of bottom paint come off in sheets right down to the gelcoat in less than two hours. No dust no special equipment. If your going to barrier coat then you need to lightly DA the bottom per the barrier coat instructions.
