In Response To: Air conditioning question (Kevin Mehegan)

Kevin,

It won't hurt to pre-charge, (prime), your system before running for the first time after a long period of laying at rest...

First, make sure that the pump is turning freely. Disconnect the input side hose & give it a quick spray of C-X, WD-40, or other lubricant, even a bit of liquid soap will work. This will keep frictional force down while the pump fully charges.

With the input hose still disconnected from the pump, crack open the sea cock and allow the water to rise to sea level in the hose. Close the valve, reconnect the hose, open the sea cock, and turn on the pump. You should have discharge water in under 10 seconds.

Best regards,

Patrick
