Like Walter, my view remains that this system is the worst of all worlds for rec. boats. I follow developments in the commercial marine industry, and it is just a Z drive like the harbor tugs use now. If you never run aground, it's fine, other than you have a 90 degree gear drive under water like an outdrive on a small boat, with the obvious seal problems.

Having run Vulva products in the past, I reamin doubtful that their over-engineering is the way to go vs. the Cummins KISS engines.
