Paul,
I planned to mount teak veneer over my formica, and like you had issues when I was still just testing flitch samples.
Before you decide to paint, you might consider putting new formica in. White formica with teak trim looks really good on the interior (in my opinion). Capt. Patrick once told me that you can remove the old formica veneer by heating it up with an old steam iron. It's just a thought.
As for uploading a picture, here's what you have to do:
1. Hit the link below which will take you to Moment of Fame.com
2. Once there, register (it's free). You will then be able to upload pictures on to that website and create your own "gallery."
3. Once you have uploaded a picture, go to that picture on Moment of Fame.com and click on it. You will see something under the picture that says, "UBBCode" and will have a box with a series of words and forward slashes that looks like this:
4. That series of words is what you want. What you have to do is copy the words that are between the "".
5. Next, you come back here and begin a new post. At the bottom of the "new post" window is an area that says "Optional Image URL:" Simply paste the words that you copied from the image at Moment of Fame.com in that area and the picture will drop in at the bottom of your post.
If this isn't clear enough, send me an e-mail with your phone number at johnv8r@comcast.net and I'll walk you through it over the phone. It's pretty simple once you've done it a few times.
Good luck.
