Ive been there too, my same experience happened when I first bought my 31. My dog & I took it to the backside of Catalina for the night ,next morning hit the switch & nothing.with radio reception being bad there, I hotwired the coil & then jumped the starter with a screwdriver.Then realized later the problem was the shifter.
Im with you ..Its soo cool to take kids out, you want everything to be perfect.I take a group out every year in the spring,this year maybe summer,cause the towers taking a little longer than I had planned..
Thanks for the "Moment of fame" tip,Ill post apic or two later..
