I used Interlux Toplac. It came out pretty well. I sanded, filled and faired the various stray screw holes and gaps in the Formica, 2 coats primer, 2 or 3 coats Toplac rolled and tipped with a good brush. I've been experimenting with 1500 wet/dry, and its working out pretty well. From what I can tell, if you wet sand with 1500, it knocks off any dust/whatever, and takes a little gloss of the paint. Come back with a wax/polymer (I got something that's supposed to be good on paint), and it looks/feels almost like gelcoat.
