Paul, there are several 1-part paints which should hold up ok on the interior.

I'm going to use interlux brightsides for my bilge under the cockpit, since its easier to use and would be happy with 4-5 year lifespan.

If you do a search on interior pait you'll probably uncover some good discussions.

Another oution would be to lay a wood grain type of formica over the old stuff. In another life I worked at a factroy which made NEVAMAR, an HPL and some of the stuff we produced went into hi end mobile homes & bubble boats. The stuff looke just like wood, too.
