A weekend to write home about!

Liz and I enjoyed a heck of a weekend!

First we drove down to Westchester County, NY, and stayed with our friend Marshall and his wife Karen on Friday night. Marshal keeps his 28' Bertram in Ossining, NY during the winter, and enjoyed another one of those infamous marina moments, but long story short, we were down there to deliver the boat around to it's summer mooring in Rye. What a beautiful day for a 3 hour boat ride. She ran like a top and the company was great for a trip down the Hudson, around the tip of Manhattan, out to the Statue of Liberty, up the East river and through Hells gate into the sound. Too many landmarks to mention, like Sing Sing prison (you know the expression to get sent up the river? That is where it comes from!), the little red light house under the GW bridge, Enterprise air and space museum, of course the great lady in the harbor aforementioned, watching over our harbor, the Brooklyn bridge, up through hells gate, all the magnificent buildings, Rykers Island, LaGuardia airport, etc. Amazing.

The skyline still looked naked, and I had memories flood back momentarily of the email Frank sent one day about seeing the blue B31 zipping across the harbor from his office in the south tower. Good friends all around.

We brought the boat in safe and sound and picked up the mooring at the club, and then high tailed it up the coast to spend the rest of a beautiful day at Playland! I cannot even remember the last time I was on a wooden roller coaster, or almost lost that hot dog eaten earlier on one of those awful spinning swirling rides!!!! What a blast, and an ode to great friends.

After the roller coaster glided to a stop, Marshal looked over at me and said "thanks for riding this with me, no one ever goes with me anymore!!!" He and I have been close friends since freshman year of college, so it meant a lot!

Yesterday I worked on the boat (rub rail project that never ends!!!) and then we up stakes and went to see Sara Evans and Alan Jackson up at the Tweeter Center with my brother and sister in law.

One heck of a weekend with pictures to prove it!

This is what life is all about!!!!
