Painting the formica bulkheads

Okay guys, I've given up trying to laminate the fomica bulkheads with mahogany veneer. I'm on my third sheet that has buckled away and have decided that it just wasn't meant to be. I've got to finish this boat this year and have finally realized that I'm just going to have to paint the stuff. Which paint should I use? It was suggested that I use one of the polyurethane paints. I hoping this crew will save me from any further experimentation.

Another question, how do you attach pictures to these posts?
