My side windows are tempered glass and my front windows are safety glass. Tempered glass is the stuff that when hit or broken, shatters into a million pebble sized pieces. Safety glass cracks but stays together. Don't know if that helps as people who have replaced and repaired have different opinions. You'll probably hear them here. Walter
