You can also pour it into a wide pan and let the amount be thinner in the pan. The more the liquid forms a cubical or cylindrical volume in the vessel, the more heat it constitutes. A wide, shallow pan prevents as much heat buildup. I used throw-away baking pans when I redid my boat, and was able to about double my worktime. Ambient temp, humidity, cubic volume, and MEK proportion seemed to be the main time/heat factors. You may have noticed that the resin in your pot has set up, but the thin saturation on your work has not.
