Well--I agree with both of you guys--having fished Long Island Sound and the Gulf coast for 10 yrs and then moving to the Great Lakes and fished them for the past 20 yrs. Lake Michigan is for the most part an obstruction free sandy bottom with gradual depth changes. From the beach to a depth of 200 feet of water is a 5 mile run. 10 miles to 300 feet of water. Salmon, steelhead, trout etc are temperature dependant. salmon--53 degrees max for good feeding--Thus --most important are temperature breaks on the surface and location which the maps work great on.
