Aluminum Question

I just came back from the machine shop with my new steering plate. ( I attach the Hynautic cylinder to the center of the steering rod)Should I coat with epoxy. ? Should I acid bath it first with a 50/50 mix of muratric acid? Should I use Aluma prep? What would the metal experts do? It will be mounted directly under the new deck all the way aft as before. Or should I do nothing and just mount it as the former stewert did.Gotta use 5/16 phillips flat head machine screws through the deck and have my glass man hide the heads. Strongest way unless there is a better way? Dave K
