Aux Tank In Place

Well I dropped the new SS 62 gal aux tank in place last night. It fit but tight. Never perfect but shims take care of that. All plastic no rubber shims. Using PVC board 1/4" and going to buy the plastic wrap they use on pilings. No carbon in that stuff. Real important according to Pascoe site. Makes it easier. I had some old resin blotch on the hull where they had a 3 X 3 glassed in for support for some kind of machinery. Well I did not want to grind the hull down too much so I left it there. "leave a sleeping dog lie" It left for an uneven surface so shims have to make up the difference. It also made the the tank sit higher about 1/2" to 3/4". So it's even a tighter fit but still will clear the new deck as 2 X 2 Fiberglass tubing is used vice the 2 X 4 wood or 1 X 6's as in the past. Much advantage to the fiberglass framework. Takes up less space. Boy the beat goes on. This is like building a house ecept more specialized. Dave K
