Dain Bramage of the week

I got a call to install a sat phone and Balmar alt setup on a boat new to the owner.

While changing out the alt's I noticed the factory paint on the oil filter.

A look at the hour meter showed 245 hours.
I checked the gen set and the same thing.

Nothing apparently had been done to the machinery since new. A call to the new owner and he confirmed.
He had me service the machinery after the sat phone and alt swap.

How does one own a boat and run it for 245 hours and never change the oil or filters?
