I too have questioned this same issue for bilge water. I hate the water being under the cabin floor---COuple things I have done---GFO packing---supposedly no leaks-(we will see in a couple days) Also--I am currently fabricating a "dike"(experimental stage--resin coated ply--siliconed to the v of the hull) for my bilge in the engine area---water will have to rise up over it in order to get to the front bilge---this will not happen at dockside because the plan is to install a mid pump with float just aft of this "dike". On plane---the water from the front bilge will run back and over the "dike" due to the angle of the boat on plane. If this works, I will glass in the dike to the hull. If not--quick removal of the siliconed in piece--and I have a safety 3rd pump.
ANy input guys?
