Well, been staying out of this discussion thinkin' maybe I'm missing something. The notion of encasing fuel lines in PVC pipe, or any other enclosure is a dumb idea. Presumbably the upside is you keep things from hitting the fuel lines. The downside is the traditional way you sort out fuel leaks is by sight and smell. If the fuel line is inside some pipe, how you gonna do that?
A1 grade rubber fuel lines are superior to copper, as long (as someone observed) as they are well supported with rubber lined clips. And don't forget, the cheapest insurance against chafing on any line, gas, diesel, battery cable, wire harness bundle, tranny hyd. hose, etc. is some cheap Auto Zone heater hose slit longwise and slipped over the conductor where it would chafe on something, then wire tied off to keep it there.
Keep everything where you can see it and smell it.
