Gas Engine/ Copper or Rubber Lines?

Heres a gasser question. As I have no deck in at the moment and the tanks being cleaned. All the connections are open this would be a good time to redo the lines. I now have 5/16 copper in place to the filter then to engine with rubber hose.
Question, what is best, replace with copper again or go with rubber hose all the way. I have both materials on hand so thats not an issue.
If going with rubber hose, can it be run thru PVC pipe to keep underside of decking clean and neat. I was thinking of attaching PVC to the framing under the deck for my wiring, hydraulic lines etc. I would run another pipe just for the fuel as I didn't think I should run gas and electric in the same tube.
Then again is it safe to run electric wires thru the PVC Tube, electric, heat, fire, gas... Boom??
Any thoughts would be much appreicated.
