I had a wierd heating up problem that was the reverse of everyone elses. After changing the impeller on my port engine, I ran out to the fishing grounds with perfect temperature. Soon after I started slow trolling for bass, my Murphy gauge alarm starting ringing. I looked at my gauges and the engine was at 200 degrees. I shut it down and immediately headed back on one engine. When I got back to my slip, the engine had cooled off and I started it again so I could get into my slip. Water flow seemed perfect, no bits of impeller anywhere. All seemed ok...until it happened a second time...only when trolling. I finally discovered slow bubbling at the bottom of the clamp on the salt water intake hose to the water pump. I removed it, cut off an inch and a half, re clamped it TIGHT, and the problem went away. Seems the combination of slow speed and air seepage was the culprit. At high speeds, there was enough water, but not while trolling. Walter
