Steve:
Bruce is right - at some point (sooner thanlater) you'll want to do some cleaning up (inside and out). As most diesels in recreational boats die of un-natural causes way before they wear out, you gotta do what you can to avoid stupid things from happening (like broke pencil zincs clogging up your HE and causing a big overheat.
Not sure how old this engine was or what maint. has been done...but it may be worth the effort some crappy windy day that otherwise keeps you at the dock, to remove the H/E and have it cleaned. Any local radiator shop can do it. Then paint it and put it back on.
Running hot by a few degrees is no big deal - BUT its sort of like a leak...it aint gonna fix it self, and almost always gets worse with time - so don't wait to trouble shoot.
This is not that big of a job - but it is a little messy...if you are against messy, then hire a mechinc.
...a day of wire brushing, priming/painting, replacing rusty hose clamps and shooting wire connections with CX will really go a long way towards avoidance of "stupid stuff" that could cause big damage.
