Mack,
If the gear was rebuilt and had no oil at all, the bearings probably scored some and some of the thrust washers shed some surface.
Also the pump has some score marks on it.

If it had oil and had been run, the oil drained and then run without oil, damage will be reduced if left at an idle position.

There would be enough surface oil to reduce scoring. The clutch pistons would still be full of oil and be unscathed.

Those gears can take a beating and work okay afterwards.
